Hi All Namaskar It was in the late nineteenth century that yoga was introduced to the Western hemisphere from its Indian homeland. Yoga means 'union'. In an ecological sense we now know that everything is interrelated, and the same applies to the mental arena. Mental ecology is as equally valid as biological or physical ecology. Also the same applies to our consciousness - spiritual self. Spiritual ecology or oneness means that a person is aware of their deeper existence and that there is a personal and collective link with what can be referred to as the Cosmic or Infinite Consciousness. Everything is only an expression of the same Infinite Consciousness (which when crudified or condensed is expressed as energy and then according to science is perceived as matter). Spiritual ecology is recognising that Oneness. The cultivation of this awareness arises through the peculiar human ability to perceive some thing or entity very closely - in a very fine and subtle way. Such attention is also possible at the mental and spiritual levels of existence. To cultivate a higher subtle awareness is what meditation allows you to do. It means you experience a sense of divinity. The more this Divine feeling radiates from you, the more it returns to you and becomes part of you in everything you are doing. Meditation allows you to feel that you have merged your mind in an ocean of Infinite Peace. Following are some visualisation exercises. Dharmadeva ---
